Request for Qualifications for Architectural Design Services ~ Durango, Colorado Early Education and Child Care
Riverhouse Children’s Center is seeking architectural design services for a new two-story, 6,400 square foot early childhood education and care facility to be located at Florida Road and Colorado Avenue. Estimated budget is $1.5 million.
Minimum qualifications include:
Completed three or more projects as principal architect in the last 5 years
Completed two or more projects of similar scope and complexity in the last 5 years
Response should include:
1. An opening letter of interest
2. Company background and history and present volume backlog
3. Statement of qualifications for this type of project and list of relevant projects
4. Description of organizational approach and identification of key team members
5. Identification of sub-consultants and their experience
6. Time required to complete design work on this project
7. Describe any litigation or arbitration within the last 5 years
8. Identify any conflicts of interest
Up to (3) firms will be invited to make a presentation to Riverhouse Board of Directors (RBOD). A cost proposal will be requested once the firm is invited to an interview. Final contracts will be negotiated with representatives of RBOD.
This request does not commit RBOD to award a contract or to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of the qualifications.
RBOD reserves the right to extend the due date for the qualification, to accept or reject any or all qualifications received as a result of this request, to negotiate with any qualified consultant, or to cancel the RFQ in part or in its entirety.
Provide Certificate of Insurance that, if selected, will be in force at all times during the contract period and at least 3 years thereafter.
Insurance coverage required:
1. Architect and Engineers Professional Liability with a limit of no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence with a deductible of no more than $25,000.
2. Commercial General Liability.
3. Commercial Auto and Workers Compensation coverage.
Qualifications will be accepted until 5:00 pm Tuesday September 20th and must be submitted via e-mail to: riverhouseboard@gmail.com
Please note - funding for this project is contingent upon receipt of grant/grants from public and/or private sources.

Seeking Executive Director ~ Durango, Colorado Early Education and Child Care
Executive Director sought to lead program management, capital campaign, strategic planning, development, and communications activities of Riverhouse Children's Center in Durango. Bachelor's degree in early education or similar field preferred; minimum 3 years experience with staff and program management and increasing responsibilities in the early childhood education or nonprofit sector. Budgeting skills and knowledge of Quickbooks a plus. This is a hands-on, working exec position with programmatic and administrative responsibilities. Candidates should possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, comfort with networking and collaboration; an ability to lead and inspire staff; and a passion for the mission and vision of the Center. San Juan Brewfest ~ Durango, Colorado Early Education and Child Care
Riverhouse Children's Center is a proud partner agency of United Way of the Southwest. Please consider supporting both Riverhouse and United way by attending the San Juan Brewfest. The San Juan Brewfest will take place on Saturday August 27 from noon to 5 pm in downtown Durango at 12th and Main. Bus rides on City of Durango Transportation to and from the event are free all day.
